    Dear Forum Members,

As you may know, it took us some years to get to this point, but now I have the honour to spread the word: The Vienna Symphonic Library is proud to tell you that

Vienna MIR 1.0 is finally available.

Thanks for your patience and support as well as your continuing interest in this huge project. Please visit the MIR product page for details.

We are preparing a time-limited, full featured trial version right now (offering just one set of Multi Impulse Responses, though, to keep the download size reasonable). More audio demos are on the way, too.

An official announcement will be made later this month - so remember: You read it here first! 😉

    Kind regards,

    /Dietz - Vienna Symphonic Library
  • Congratulations. I'm sure that everyone is relieved that this project has finally seen the light of day. I would love to try it out, but unfortunately I don't have a computer that can run it. Yet....................

  • it would be nice if you re-instate any special offers when the product is finally released for Mac OS. Assuming that does eventually happen  :)

  •  Many congratulations on such an exciting launch.

I too don't have a computer yet that can cope but am planning one for later this year or early next. I'm worried about loseing the introductory offer. If I download it now presumably I can burn it to disc and wait until I get my new PC before installing? Would that work? would I still be eligible for the offer?

  • Great work. When will we be hearing some new audio demos?

  • Hi David,

You can order (and download or not) now, and you'll always get access to the latest update in our User Area, before and after the expiration of the introductory offer.

    Cheers, Martin

  • A quick question and sorry if it has been answered before...

Does MIR works with Vienna instruments only or also with other VSTis?

    Thks,

    Iván

Like DG wrote - right now MIR is hosting VIs and Vienna Imperial only. 3rd party VSTi hosting and audio input is planned for MIR Pro.

  • thank you

  • Congratulation !

i would love to use it with my VI and for my audio post-prod project but....i have to wait for the Mac OS version..?..

    kind regards

    DaN

  • The Mac-version is NOT just around the corner. It`s development depends on factors not under our control (i.e. Apples`s marketing- and product strategies). As by now, there`s no chance to run MIR on a Mac, which means that we can`t even _start_ with its development for this platform. We will do so as soon as we see light at the end of the tunnel, but please don`t hold your breath! 8-)

Actually it's not just a reverb. It will host all your VSL samples, and you will find that not only is the OS a proper 64bit OS, much faster than  a Mac Pro, but it is also more suited for streaming samples, especially at low latencies. there is no down side on this one.

To me the really groundbreaking thing about MIR is that it creates real depth in terms of instrument positioning....You really get a 3D impression of an orchestra playing, if you move around an instrument on the stage in a MIR setting, it will not only move left or right in terms of speaker position, but you hear distances change... hard to describe.... but the stunning thing is complete realism of the actual change of timbre you get when moving around an istrument on the virtual stage...

    It is just amazing....

I believe it slices carrots as well. MIR-O-Matic.

You have no idea of the power of the DARK SIDE...

  • How does the Vienna Ensemble Pro and MIR work together?

MIR is used instead of VE standalone. It hosts VIs, VST effects, and outputs the final mix.
