  • Basic roadmap for using VI Special Edition in Logic 8

Greetings, all.  I just cracked the box on Logic a month ago (very happy with my addition of virtual low brass and percussion to an acoustic wind ensemble recording...) and am ready to start on a score imported in to Logic with VI.  As this is my first time, can anyone suggest a good source in which each step in accessing VI instruments in Logic is enumerated.  For example, the presets for individual strings and the Appassionata ensemble will probably work fine, at least to get started.  Can I pull those up in the Logic channel strip and browse to VI?  Will the performance elements automatically be plugged in (eg velocity crossfade or the interval smoothing)?  Do I need to download the Vienna Ensemble?

Basically, if there's some manual entry for this that would be a good start.

  • Hello

    Welcome

In The DVD you have a demo song, this is a good start using the SE

You can use this song as a template, all EQ, Reverb... are done

    Best

Done, thanks!  At least, I think I'm done.  I just added VI to the tags, will that do the trick?  I think my questions can be solved by proper navigation-where to look for the answers, and where to ask; so this helps a lot.

     Best,

    Bonjour, Cyril, et merci beaucoup!

This sounds very promising.  I'm assuming you're referring to the DVDs that are packaged with the Special Edition ?  I installed everything last year and have just now found time to use the program, so I'll look in the box and check it out.

    A bientot.

Update:  I think I found the song-it's a piece by Christian Kardeis on the web site, right?  And the file is downloadable.  So far quite useful.
