  • save logic song = re-loading VE data

    hi all.

    a strange thing here.

everytime i´m saving a logic song (both L8 + L9) the Vienna Ensemble interface is going to reload the samples:

    "loading data, please wait".

in an earlier arrangement i had the "imperial" as a part of this affected VE instance (multi-mode).

i "cutted" the Imperial out to a seperate instrument in logic. after that, imperial works fine (... the GUI disappears shortly while saving logic´s song, but it does not reload), but VE still reloads all stuff.

i just uninstalled VE, deleted pref´s, reinstalled all stuff (incl. newest LCC of syncrosoft), repaired permissions, reboot, rescanned folders ... same strange thing yet.

    any ideas?

i´m on 10.5.8, logic 8/9, all latest VI stuff incl. ensemble, instruments, imperial, suite

  • solved!

this strange behaviour is due to the "save including media" option.

the normal saving is free of "reloading" samples ...

  • Hello

    Very interesting.[:)]

    Where is this option ?

  • ... at the bottom of the "save as - dialog" is a checkbox, where you can disable / enable the "including media" option.

... this option only works for logic media (samples, impulse responses, etc.) incl. all "recorded" audio material.

  • Team VSL :),

What makes this stop happening in Logic for VE Pro and VE3?  I tried the above and it has no affect on VE Pro or VE3.  Anytime I am working on my projects and hit save, it takes a few minutes for VE3 or VE Pro to shutdown, and reload all the samples again.  Perhaps I can "preserve" all my windows but is this the recommended way or most convenient?

    Thanks!

  • Preserve them. That's the best (only) way to keep them open.

  • Thanks Martin.
