  • License Control Center not opening

I'm new to this forum. I just purchased VI Special Edition but cannot open it. The ball spins forever and I finally need to Force Quit. I have a new MacBook Pro and will endeavor to use VI with Logic 9. I purchased VI from Sweetwater and the techs there are trying to help, but after an hour of trying things (Disk Utility, repairing permissions, downloaded the newest License Control Center, restarting of course, unplugging all external disks, not having any application open), no difference. I need help. I don't want to go to another product but may have to. Thanks for any suggestions. All the best, KIM R

  • Hello,

So just LCC won't open ? or both LCC and VI won't open? Have you had LLC open at all to put your licenses on the dongle?

I'm assuming you're using 10.5.8? (and you've not upgraded to Snow Leopard yet?)

If your Licenses are on your dongle already and it's just VI that won't open,,,,,, have the plugins registered OK in Logic plug in manager? Do the Standalone versions open OK?

    Paul

  • Dear Paul, Yes, the LCC alone won't open. I guess I get some numbers off that to open VI, is that right? I haven't actually got to the VI yet? I am on Leopard 10.5.8, not Snow Leopard. Don't know what you mean by the last line. I'd appreciate it if you will walk me through. I'm really desparate to get this going, and on a deadline. Thank you so much, KIM R My e-mail is [email and phone removed for privacy reasons]

  • We contacted Syncrosoft (= Steinberg/eLicenser) reg. this issue and we are awaiting their suggestions.

    /Regards,

  • Sorry to say that, if I do not hear anything from any one who can help me and get this resolved and solved by this afternoon, a few hours from now, I will have to go to another product. This has been going on a week now. That is much too long, and it's likely I have lost work because of not being able to get this project I am working on done. Regards, KIM R

  •  have you checked if while the Vienna engine is spinning there is something behind the mask?

  • Hi Kim,

sorry for the super-long delay, now it´s friday night again....

Please send us your console log with the entries after you started the LCC. Simply type "console" into spotlight, it´s the first application that shows up, and copy the content into a mail to suppport [at] vsl [dot] co [dot] at, and I´ll see what we can find out.

Once again, my apologies for the delay.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Don't know what you mean. Vienna has never started up, because I cannot open the LCC. The only thing on my screen is the ball spinning in front of License Control Center initializing.

  • OK Paul, I'm sending the log off to you now. I'm just sending it how it is. Let me know if I should perform some action (like trying to open LCC, then having to Force Quit it), and then sending the log. Thanks for your efforts. KIM R

  • Hi Kim,

thanks! Yes, please open LCC, then force quit it  and send me the console log. I will have our developers look into it.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Did you try to set up a new user account (with admin rights) and to install/open LCC there?
