  • Question about Chamber strings 1

Hi,this is my first post and Im considering buying Chamber strings 1...What Id like to know is what are the differences between standard and extended...I cant find this information anywhere on the site...Thanks Daithi

  • It is easy.

You go to the submenu sample content:

  • Thanks alot, shouldve seen that! Also do you know if there are demos of just the standard chamber strings 1? Thanks

  • chamber strings 2 are with sordini, so you should hear it without any problem if chamber strings 1 or 2 is used.

    cheers

    Hi Daithi,

I'd imagine that the demos use both the Standard and Extended libraries.

Unless someone points you in the direction of a piece recorded with only the Standard, you'll have to judge for yourself whether the articulations that come with it are sufficient for your needs until you can afford the full set.

A lot of good user demos using only Standard libraries have been posted in the forum. Hopefully someone knows where one for the Chambers is hiding.  [:)]

  • I found one that uses the Chambers from the SE Extended- you get more artics with CS1 Standard obviously.

  • Thanks again Colin! Is that the extended Chamber strings 1?sounds great, but with mutes,is that right? Also,as this is my first Vienna purchase,I need to know what I get with the samples...there IS a vienna player too right? Also,do I get any effects with the player?(reverb,eq,etc..) Cheers again Dave

  • I think Colin is reffering to the Chamber Strings samples included with the SE (Special Edition) extended collection.  The SE is basically a watered down version of the Cube.  If you buy the SE extended you get a lot of extra goodies that are not included in the Cube.

As stated before, mutes are included with CS 2.

VI, Vienna Instruments, is the player and it is included with your purchase.  You don't get any effects, however, you'll get VE, Vienna Ensemble for free.  VE is a VI hosting software application which enables you host up to 16 instruments on one MIDI track.
