    Hello everybody,

you have probably noticed the list of plug-ins we have tested and verified to work with Vienna Ensemble PRO in our beta-testing.

Of course there are many more plug-ins out there, and you might have them in your arsenal. Please have a quick look at this list and add any additional plug-ins that work on your system in this thread - or in a mail to our support team.

Please include your OS and the version number of the given plug-ins!

Thanks a lot for your help in advance, I guess we all want this list to grow quickly [H]

    Best,

    Paul

  • As for my current tries, I can grant excellent results with:

    - XLN Addictive Drums 1.1.0

    - SYNTHOGY Ivory 1.64

    My setup:

Windows XP Professional 64bit on a ASUS P5N32-e SLI Plus motherboard with Intel Core2Duo E6600, 8 GB RAM and RME HDSPe AIO

  • Hi Everybody,

i like your list (link above). but could you please rearrange the list by name the system & pc or mac. It´s a major difference between the computers. On my mac (8core & osx 10.6 / 16 gb, logic 9) stylus and longe lizzard will not running in the right way (see link http://community.vsl.co.at/forums/p/22811/154965.aspx#154965)

  • I tryied Lennardigital's Sylenth1 v2.2 from a master and a slave instance and it'is running pretty well through VEPro. WinXP32, Cubase4.52

  • Latest versions of Cakewalk Rapture and Dimension on MAC OSX work.

  • UVI Workstation running the IRCAM Solo instruments sample library works perfectly thus far.

System: i7 920 running XP64 12Gb RAM (VE PRO is on this server)

  • Pianoteq 3.0.5 on OS X 10.5.8.  Works like a champ.

    Maestro2be

  • Garritan Personal Orchestra (GPO) with Kontakt player 2.2.4 works just fine.  OS X 10.5.8.

    Maestro2be

    • Musiclab RealGuitar
    • Musiclab RealStart

    both working fine.

  • Hallo hallo! Anybody tried Waves plugin on a Win XP 32 DAW? Many thanks for the replies.

  • NI's B4 II has MIDI problems.  Notes stick even when it is played by itself.  Everything else works; it sounds good; it just doesn't respond well to the MIDI.

    GSI's B3 VST works fine.

The Inexpensive SONIVOX VIs are working.

Even though BFD2 is reported as tested and working, I've had problems with it sometimes not reloading.  Most of the kit will reload, but one instrument such as the snare will have to be manually reloaded.  This doesn't always happen.  I don't think this is a VE Pro issue as I've seen similar behavior with the combination of BFD2, FX Teleport, and jbridge.

I can also confirm as stated above that Real Guitar and Real Strat work with no issues.

I'm using Cubase 5.1 on a 64bit Vista machine talking to two 64bit Vista slaves.

  • I have PLAY 64 working on my Vista 64 i7 Core slave. The only major issue I've encountered is that if I have multiple instruments loaded into 1 instance of PLAY, and I try to change the MIDI channel RIGHT AFTER I select the channel where PLAY is instantiated... VE Pro will crash. For me, the way around it is.. I select the channel with PLAY instantiated. PLAY gui pops up. I click on any parameter other than the MIDI channel. e.q if I click the Browser button (Must click it again because the first click doesn't register for some reason).. now I'm in the browser, I click Player and I'm back out in the Player. Now I am able to select different MIDI channels without VE pro crashing. This also works with turning the volume knob, articulations, tranpose.. it seems any parameter other than the MIDI channel select. I was able to duplicate the crash every time. Stormdrum didn't seem as sensitive to this. It would crash but not as often as Gypsy. With Gypsy.. as soon you select its channel and the gui pops up. You click the MIDI channel and boom it crashes. Keep in mind this is with multiple instruments loaded into ONE instance of Play. I have not tested out single instruments loaded into single instances of Play. Apologies for the way my post looks. I can't seem to figure out how the heck to create new paragraphs in this editor. I can hit RETURN a million times and SPACE... it just will not let me.. no indent!

  • Plogue Bidule 0.9690 (as a VST plugin) crashes VEPro on Mac OSX 10.5.8. (Not sure about on Windows) Every incarnation of the plugin will crash it.. both the VST and the FX inserts.

  • These both also work very fine:

    • Steinberg Halion Symphonic Orchestra 1.5
    • Native Instruments Battery 3

  • Paul - I am loving this software! Here's what isn't working on my stuff (an update to another post i made on this board):

Your site says Arturia Mini Moog is working - it isn't working here.... GUI not visible, but I can hear sounds.

Arturia Moog Modular - not able to see GUI, but I have sound.

Albino 3, Kontakt, Absynth, Toontrack, Vienna Libs all work well.

  • Play Choirs - Full SATB using two play instruments in one VEPx64 instance (not using Play-IR but VS-Converb, tho). Works like a charm with wordbuilder in Cubase 5 without any noticeable latency while playing live. No crash as of yet.

  • Play Choirs/Orch Gold works for me (VE Pro 32bit server) as does Broadway Big Band (Halion 3.4 player).

Can't get Focusrite Plug in suite to recognise all the plugins. Compressors work but for some reason EQ doesn't appear? This also happen in VE3 (32bit VE pro on Vista 64)

Thanks again VSL. This is truely amazing.

  • I'm having a little problem using Kontakt 4.  It works, but each time I load an instrument I get the spinning beach ball, it turns red in the Force Quit window, and then about 3 minutes later the patch appears and VE Pro responds again.  Quite odd.

I'm on 10.5.8. using Pro Tools 8.0.1  I had previously been at 10.6.1 and PT 8.0.3 but I had to revert after having all my audio drives turn into "not a valid audio drive" in Pro Tools.  I'm on a 2x2.66 Ghz Dual Core Intel (January of 07), and I'll be buying a new 8-core as soon as Digi approves a version of PT for Snow Leopard.  I think updating my OS, my Pro Tools and adding VE Pro and Kontakt 4 all at the same time may have overwhelmed my (slightly) old computer.
