    I would buy VE Pro right away, but it seems there is still no support for ProTools on the PC platform.  [:(]

    It's really a shame, that VSL will still not support the RTAS plugin format on PC.  They have the power and time to develop for modern architectures like 64bit and VST3, but they are not able to program PC RTAS plugins ?

    Is there any plan to support ProTools-8 on PC in near future?

    Do you have a slave machine or are you wanting to run everything on the Pro Tools machine? I'm currently running Pro Tools 7.4 mpowered as a Host on Win XP and my slave is an i7 core running Vista 64. I have VE Pro wrapped with the Rtas wrapper. The only thing I have issues with is I get clicks and pops when I move the mouse around, zoom in and out, scroll up and down/left and right in Pro Tools. It's weird and sometimes I think it's because it's not an actual Rtas plug. I tested VE Pro (On the host) with a demo of Reaper in it's native VST form and got no cracks and pops whatsoever. It's something I can live with for now because when I bounce I don't plan on moving the mouse around. But I would rather not live with it forever. I wish I could ditch Pro Tools but I've invested too much time into learning it. I think there is a reason why the Rtas format is not supported for Windows... I forgot where I read it though. Just letting you know I feel your pain.

    +1 here, if they get an RTAS for PC, i'm definitely getting at least 3 licenses.

    Welcome to our forums, vudoo [:P]

    You get 3 licenses when you purchase one VE Pro, so your machines should be covered.

    We'll look into the RTAS / PC for the future. So far demand has not been very high, which is why we have not released any RTAS-PC versions of any plugins.

    I've tested VE 2 and 3 with FXPansion's Wrapper on my XP Host with ProTools 7.4/8, but they don't work. I got many problems with the connection between the plugin and the VE server process. It often looses the connection and I have to completely restart ProTools. 
    Using the VST Plugins in a VST Host like Reaper or Samplitude do work very well on my computer. 
    So I think, using the wrapper for VE isn't a good solution. 

    What I can't understand is, why VSL is not able to really support RTAS. Many professionals do use ProTools and with Version 8 of PT many of them using PT for composing processes now.

    All other serious companies who making professional sample programs and libraries are able to support the RTAS plugin format, why not VSL?

    Yeah I don't have major issues with the wrapper. I just get the crackling that I don't get in a VST environment. So what should we do? Should we see what the demand is like over at the DUC? I love VE PRO, I've never been so impressed with a piece of software. I'd really like to see it in RTAS format for windows.

    I don't think so. Protools performance is really bad compared to other hosts. I have to teach my students the use of Protools but frankly I don't understand that this could ever develop to some kind of standard in the audio world. The clicks go away when you deactivate cores of your PCs processor in the protools preferences. RTAS does not work with multicore processors very well. I had the same issue and it's been driving me really mad.

    Are you on a MAC or Windows? I think I've tried using only 1 core and it was still clicking and popping. I'll try it again to see what's up. I find that if I change the buffer to X1 the clicks don't happen when I move the mouse around the screen like zooming and selecting etc. etc. It'll still click and pop every once in awhile just not from navigating through pro tools. I'd like to know if Mac users are having this issue since they have RTAS versions.

    I am on a Mac but our teaching Protools machines are on XP. I can check that out for you. I had exactly the same. I have to say that I still have crackling sound when I for example open a new plugin while protools plays back. We have mbox Minis. I wouldn't rule out that only the "real" Protools hardware performs as it should. There is also a new update available as I recall (8.0.1). Maybe that can help you.
