  • VE Pro cancelled Shutdown - Mac

    Hi,

I use Apple's remote Desktop to control to slaves. I routinely shut these down using Remote Desktop - as both machines are headless.

VE Pro seems to cancel shutdown - forcing me to get into these Macs by another route, as remote Desktop "wipes it's hands" even though shutdown failed.

I can choose "users loose saved changes" in remote desktop - bypassing the shutdown cancellation, but this runs a number of risks. Or, I have to manually quit VE Pro on the slaves before shutting down. A minor hassle, but habit keeps dictating that I forget to do it.

Is this a known bug of VE Pro?

    Thanks

You are suppose to shut down the server before you shut down the computer, so it's not a bug....!

  • Ok.

But if you shut down a Mac, it does all that for you. So it seem's odd - VE PRo Cancelled Shutdown is the sort of warning you get when you have an unsaved document or something that needs one's attention. Why should VE Pro need one's attention?

Interestingly, VE 3 did not exhibit this behaviour, so I have to beg to differ with you on this one, and declare it a bug.

    With all due respect.

    +1

  • What about this inconvenient "half-bug" - I thought it was addressed in the latest update? I still have to shut down VE Pro manually.

Is there some mor information on this topic?

  • Hello everybody,

this is fixed in the upcoming version, which is currently in betatesting.

    We´re sorry for the inconvenience.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Hi again,

unfortunately I have to correct myself - this particular bug was NOT fixed, because it cannot be addressed at this time.

    Sorry for the misinformation.

    Best,
