• VE Pro -can't get syncrosoft key driver to work in Windows 7 x64

Anyone mananging this OK? During installation of, in this case, the 'Cubase Key' from the DVD installation disk, I keep getting the message "There are other activated process......" and to restart the computer. Doesn't help, just a vicious circle of the same. I thought I saw a few people using Windows 7 x64 with VE Pro and I'm wondering how they got the key driver software in right. Thanks, -Paul

  • Works here.

Before installation check if any programs using the key are running (e.g. VE) and also open the task manager and end the synsopos process as well as vsldaemon if VE or anything VSL related was running. Then try your installation again.

Also grab the latest eLCC version over here

  • I turned off every program/service in the task manager that I could and still get the message that "something is ruuning, restart the computer..." I'm using the driver that came with the steinberg key. Is there a vienna key driver I can download here at VSL? I can't find it with searches. My google search returns this thread!!! Thanks, -Paul

It's almost certain that the Steinberg driver won't work. You need to uninstall it, re-boot, install the latest eLicencer, re-boot (not really necessary, but do it)  and then you should be good to go.

  • It just took finally finding the correct driver. The new one from the eLicenser site is good for Windows 7 x64. I thought I had the latest from that site already and that they didn't have the usb dongle driver, but it says the downloaded software has both, and it works. Good news. Putting Windows7 x 64 to the test today to see if it is true it handles audio better than any other o/s. I feel already that it is the most stable and handles ram memory the best. -Paul

  • Good to hear it works now. :)

  • Can you forward me the driver you downloaded? It is not available via the web anymore.
