    Ok VSL, convice me that Vienna Suite is THE plug-in package to buy. For a noob like me, what does Ozone offer, and what does VS offer?

    Ozone is a mastering package.  Vienna Suite also includes Reverb and powerpanner.

    Ozone is cheaper and very good for what it was designed to do.  VS is more like a Waves bundle of plugins

    To my ears and for the music I write VSL sounds "better", but as you can download a demo of both why don't you compare them yourself and to the style of music you are writing?

    Apart from the very different goals of the two products, and apart form the tools that Ozone doesn't include, the Vienna Suite comes with about 500 presets especially designed for the use with Vienna Instruments. 😊

    I've been using Ozone for years now, and bought Alloy last month. Different tools for different purposes.

    I use Ozone for mastering, and Alloy for specific mixing situations (not very many, in fact).

    Vienna Suite is my main plug-in suite for mixing. I don't yet use any of its tools for mastering, but might at some point.

    These are the most transparent and versatile mixing plugs I've ever used (and I've tried almost all of the Mac-supported ones).

    The presets are often very good starting points as well -- especially the Resonance Menu EQ's, which default to flat.

    About the only thing I don't use Vienna Suite on is rock instrumentation such as electric guitar and bass guitar. Also vocals.

    I cover a lot of genres from all around the world, and find Vienna Suite works amazingly well with ethnic instruments as well.

    I consider this one of the best investments I've ever made -- especially since I was an early buyer so got the Jazz Drums!

    Actually, come to think of it, I do use Vienna Suite on rock productions as well -- especially given the analog emulation modes.

    This is an amazingly full-featured and flexible plug-in suite. And I imagine non-PPC users are salivating over the Reverb as well.
