  • [VE Pro] How to use Directory Manager

I can't get any samples to load into Vienna Ensemble Pro. The paths in Directory Manager do not appear in Vienna Ensemble Pro, nor do they appear in Users|Shared|VSL Custom Data. Please help ASAP.

  • Hi Joe,

I have checked your account and couldnĀ“t find and registrations under your name, apart from the VE PRO Demo.

You donĀ“t need the Directory Manager for any other sample libraries.

If you are on a PC, please check whether your VST plug-in folder is assigned correctly in the preferences of VE PRO.

  • I just purchased VE Pro. It gave me an activation code for Epic Orchestra Standard Library, but the eLicenser Control Center won't let me activate it. It says I've already downloaded it. There's nothing called Epic Orchestra on my computer.

Vienna Ensemble Pro has a blue and white matrix. On the Left side of mine is read only text:

    Vienna Instruments v4.0 build 4536
    Build date: Oct 9 2009 00:58
    The following lecenses are installed
    Appassionata Strings I
    Appassionata Strings I L2
    Appassionata Strings II

and so on , down to

    Woodwind III L2

I can't click on any of this.

On the right side of the Matrix there is a red X, and it says (empty preset)

So there's no way for me to play sounds in VE Pro.
    Please help

    Hello Joe,

what you see on the left side are all the licenses you can use with your Demo Code (already on your ViennaKey).

I have checked your key and your VE PRO licenses are on it, but I see that the license download for Epic Orchestra has not been completed. Please click on "Repair" in your eLCC to complete this process (the license is called VI-online_76).

Did you download and install Epic Orchestra? ItĀ“s available here.Once installed, it will also show up in the Directory Manager.

ThereĀ“s a detailed description of the process in your Download-instruments Manual.

  • I'm having the same problem. I downloaded the demo for VE pro and the demo for vienna suite - I assume Epic instruments. Everything seems to have installed and authorized correctly, but I can't access the instruments. Nothing shows up in the directory manager & I can't find the data files on my mac. I'm running one of the new mac minis OS 10.6.4 Thanks Bob

VE PRO demo does not iclude Epic Orchestra. If you don't have any Vienna Instruments libraries registered, than there is no content available in Directory Manager and therefor also no Vienna Instruments will show up in VE PRO.

Of course you can test VE PRO and Vienna Suite loading any other compatible third party libaries, for example Kontakt based libraries.

  • Hi Herb, Thanks for clearing that up. One more question then... I downloaded the demo for vienna suite... does that show up anywhere I can access? Thanks Bob

    Hi Bob,

you should have received a demo license activation code for the Vienna Suite - did you download the corresponding license yet?

The software is available here - does that answer your question?

  • Same problem, I registered tenor trombone, imperial, and euphonium but can't get them to appear in tabs when i open vsl...I think it may be because I'm not sure which folders to place the new files in

  • Welcome nco62292,

Did you make sure that you installed the files (they have to be extracted from highly compressed *.cab files to *.dat files) => Simply click "INSTALL" in the Download Manager.

If you can see that you have those *.dat files available:

Please open the Directory Manager (find it in "Applications" (OS X) or "All Programs" (Win) => then "Vienna Instruments").

Remove all folders - then add all sample content again by drag and drop from your Finder/Explorer.

    Best,
    Paul
