Like most of you, I have a pretty sizeable setup with VE Pro, which takes a long time to load (running VE Pro on 2 G5s and the host Mac Pro). I leave it on overnight, so I don't need to constantly reload. Without fail, the next morning the 32-bit VE Pro has crashed. After force quiting it and trying to reload (leaving all other instances loaded, as is), I get this message:" Unable to create Server Object. The Server application might be already running, or the requested network port is not available." I am forced to restart the computer and waste time waiting for everything to load again, which is very frustrating and defeats the advantages of this wonderful program for the time being.

Has anyone run into anything like this, and if so, do you have any suggestions on how to remedy it? Any thoughts much appreciated.

Cheers,

Damir

Could you please send us the crash report?

Thanks,

I have actually figured out the culprit to this problem and wanted to post my findings in case anyone else encounters it.

I have many Kontant instruments in my VE Pro metaframe. They, in turn, start their own memory server (KMS). If VE Pro 32 bit crashes, this KMS is still running. One needs to purge the memory in KMS and quit the application before restarting VE Pro again (sometimes it is necessary to dive into Activity Monitor and manually zap all KMemServer instances.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Damir
