  • Installing on a second machine

    Hi there,

Can you install your Vienna instruments on a second machine? Obviously you'll have to buy a second key, but would you have to buy the software again?

    Many thanks,

    Tony

  • Dear Tony,

you can install your Vienna Instruments Software and your collection(s) on a 2nd computer and use your existing Vienna Key. A 2nd key is only needed in case that you would like to run your product(s) on 2 computers at the same time.

    I hope that explains it.

    Kind regards,

  • It sounds pretty obvious to me that Tony meant exactly this : running the product on 2 computers at the same time.....

Which raises a question about a policy for extra licenses.

I indeed think it's not unapropriate to ask to the very company which first claimed "don't pay twice for the same sample" why they so far do not offer a realistic pricing for those situations where "running the product on 2 computers at the same time" may become handy....

I for one could be interested, and I guess I'm not alone.

  • All the products that actually need more than one computer have more than one licence in the collection, so you can split the product up.

FWIW I don't know of any software product that allows you two installs, both being used at the same time.

  • I know at least one company which offers additional licenses (just an activation number in fact) for a fraction of the price, which allows multiple installs and simultaneous use....

I agree there are probaby not so many out there, and in my opinion, it should be something to make more common, that I see as a win-win situtation if cleverly setup : both for the developer, who makes more money with the same product, and for the user, who can organize, or try new things, more freely.

This is the way """ I """ see it , but of course I don't pretend to hold any absolute truth........

It's only a problem when people have underpowered machines. The answer is simple. Just get a more powerful machine. Solved. [;)]
