I ask because I was told previously to set it to "off" when loading Kontakt 4 DIRECTLY into Logic as an AU plug-in, and was wondering if I should do the same thing when using Logic to access Kontakt4 loaded into a VEPro instance on the VEPro Server? Thanks for any clarification! Sincerely, robjohn99

Hi
I suppose that question is valid for Kontakt 3.5 as well.
First time I hear that you should switch multiprocessing off in Kontakt when loading onto an instrument track in Logic. Where did you hear that?

I don't remember anymore but I believe it was the Native Instruments forum. Certainly, I was having all sorts of problems until turning it to "off" (though I'd be happy if someone else has any clarification about the proper setting). Right now with my 8-core early 2009 MacPro, I've got a largish orchestra template using multiple instances of Kontakt4 in VEPro in turn wired to Logic. The Kontakt4's multi-processor setting is set to "off" and the VEPro server's multi-processor setting is set to "8 per instance" (as has been recommended here) - it seems like the optimal setup for me (no hiccups, compared to a variety of other things I've tried) but your mileage may vary :-)... I can confirm that it is alwas a good idea to switch multiproc off in a Sequencer. This way the Sequqncer (or VE Pro) takes care of the multiporcessing. In Logic for example every track can take resoureces from another core. I noticed better performance when multiproc is off therfore. So yes. The only case where it makes sense having multproc on is in standalone mode. There its a must of course!
