  • eLicenser showing "demo mode" and countdown of remaining starts?

Hi guys, why do I have an alert that keeps popping up that a month ago said I have 40 "starts" remaining and now it just popped up when I opened Vienna Ensemble up in Cubase and it says 10 starts remaining. I opened syncrosoft License Control Center 5.4.8.8 and it says under "All Applications"  a very small "demo" that includes "all vienna symphonic library applications." Why does it say demo? I have legit copies of everything on my eLicenser including my VSL SE and Cubase 4 so what is the story and why is my license seemingly running out??

    Thanks

    Hi,

I have checked your registrations and found the Special Edition Standard Library.

Each Vienna Instruments Collection consists of a Standard and an Extended Library, here is the overview for the Special Edition.

You have a demo license with 180 free starts to check out the Extended Library on your ViennaKey. Once this demo license has expired, you cannot access the instruments of the Extended Library anymore (they are marked with a small "L2" (for Level2= Extended Library).

You can purchase the Extended Library anytime in our webshop, we will send your serial number right away.

    Best,

  •  I thank you for the hasty reply my good man. Jeez, had this puppy for over a year and can't believe I still haven't used up my starts. I guess I don't compose as much as I should be doing, LOL!

Can you please explain to me how much it would cost for me to upgrade back up to the extended once these demo starts expire? It says 465$ for the standard edition and 625$ for the Extended. Now does this mean that to upgrade to the extended I need the difference of the two i.e. 165$ or is it the full $625 for the extended edition?

  • Hi,

the Extended Library for the Special Edition is 625 US$. I´m also surprised that the Demo Starts were available that long - you should boost your symphonic output [;)]

  •  Haha! Well honestly, don't take this the wrong way but I think your program might be glitched...honestly there's no way I started VSL that few times. There's many times that Cubase glitched up and I restarted it over and over and must have done sometimes 10-20 restarts per day just in one day..[:O]

But hey...better for me I guess that I got it that long! ;-)

625 you say ey? That's a tad steep for me ol' chap. I guess I'll have to stick with the standard edition from now on, but don't worry you'll be getting some money out of me soon in the form of VE PRO. Throw me a deal and maybe I'll even reconsider on the Extended Edition.  (by deal I mean half price or less)[;)]

  • Hi,

    no problem.

BTW: One start is only used up for each initial start of the Vienna Instruments after a restart....

And one more tip: Make sure to have bounced all your arrangements, as you cannot access the Extended Library after the Demo license has expired!

    Paul

  • Ah..thanks for the very good idea of bouncing previous arrangements. Luckily, I don't think I've worked on that many projects utilizing the extended edition instruments.
