    Hey Folks -

    I just bought Horizon strings, and I am very excited to see what it can do; however, performance tool crashes every time I use it, as soon as I try to open a midi port (Fastlane 2x2 UBS). I am on a 1Ghz Win98SE with Giga 2.5, and Maple Midi Tools installed (the culprit?). VSL support so far deaf to my pleas, hope you can help!

    sorry eric, i'm just going through the last days to catch up on emails i didn't find the time to reply.
    i've set the performance tool version2 beta2 active again in the tools menu of the download section in the user area - this should work as a temporary quick solution for W98 users.
    hopefully we will se the final version for W98 soon

    i've changed it to beta4 (which is more performant than beta2) according to reports it also works for W98 (thanks to syquest)
    and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.

    Thanks, its working! This is my first VSL experience (horizon) and I must say, even for someone with very little time to devote to figuring out how to use it, wow, its amazing, I should say, inspiring? Makes me wonder what the whole kit would sound like...someday!
