  • One VSTi, multiple midi channels route it to Cubase Mixer

Hi. I Just Buy Vienna Ensemble Pro and I'm testing configurations and need advice. I have problems to route Vienna Ensemble Pro in Cubase Mixer. I have no problems with individual VSTi route to differents channel mixer in Cubase, but i don't know how to setup an instrument like Omnisphere with more than 1 channel per instance (like Trillian, Omnisphere, Kontakt, PLAY) and route 8 midi channel to Cubase micxer. I explain: If i load Omnisphere in Cubase 5 and and assign a patch to every channel available in Omnisphere (8 per instance) and route it to Cubase Mixer, i get 8 channels in Cubase mixer controlling each channel on Omnisphere independently, but if i load Omnisphere in Vienna ensemble Pro and try to do the same, i only get sound through the midi channel 1, the rest of Omnisphere midi channels in VEP (2, 3, 4 etc...) receives MIDI data but no souds in cubase mixer. The question is:How to setup in Vienna Ensemble Pro and get 8 independent channels in cubase to control one omnisphere Instance?. Is posible? Thank's in advance.

    Hi and welcome codeblock,

the fastest way to find out is to check out the sections about "Multi-timbral instruments" and Routing in the VE PRO manual!

    Best,

  • Thank's Paul for the advice.

  • As an addition to Paul's advice, when you have your VE Pro multitimbral instrument set up correctly, don';t forget to enable these VSTi Outputs in Cubase (F11, click the little black icon just to the left of the VEP name).

  • Thank's Paul and DG for advices. I setup VEP in Cubase 5 with multitimbral instuments and works perfect now, it's a little complicated the first time because the additional "Inputs" and the routes and i forgot to use the "Vienna Ensemble Pro -1 to -8" outs of Vienna Ensemble Pro Plugin in Cubase to route differents instances to differents outputs. Works perfect without problems. Regards.
