  • MIR: How to bounce audio

How do I bounce audio with MIR?

I'm using Cubase 4 and a Delta 44 sound card.

Cubase uses output 1/2 on the Delta.

    MIR uses output 3/4.

    I'm guessing I should connect Delta's output 3/4 (=MIR's output) to input 1/2.

Then in Cubase, I add an audio track with input 1/2 as the input.

Then when I hit record on this audio track, I record MIR's output.

This is how to go about it, right?

I'm asking here before spending time first locating my spare audio cables and then setting things up.

    Hope it's ok!

Btw. I am currently thinking hard about how to find the money for MIR in my budget asap [:)]

If only I didn't have to eat! [H]

    Best,

    Henrik

  • Henrik,

Ideally your audio-system has internal loopback (i.e. it allows for re-routing an output to an input without cables). Connecting a digital output to a digital input is technically more or less the same, just less elegant :-).

It seems as you are using an analogue connection to record Out 3/4 with In 1/2. in principle this is ok, but be aware that you introduce another two conversions between the digital and the analogue world.

Kind regards (and don't forget to eat ;-D ...)

  • hello dietz,

which soundcard would you advise for for internal loopback ?

  • There are many good cards, but I use RME which comes with Total Mix software.

    My personal choice, too.

  • Another vote for RME.  Am using it with MIR.

  • I also use RME (AIO), but no idea how to avoid the "cable solution"

Using Totalmix you can route audio to one of the inputs on the soundcard and then use that as an input in your sequencer. Record this input to an audio track.

  • ... but not with all of their products, AFAIK.
