  • VE PRO: Opening Logic project if server is not connected

Is it really the case that if a server is not connected, that one can hardly open a Logic project? If the slave computer is switched off, or not physically connected and I attempt to load a Logic project, which contains six VE Pro plugins (saved in decoupled mode) linking to six VE Pro instances on the slave, then Logic's loading indicator hangs on "VE Pro" with a spinning wheel for a about 15 minutes each time. The point is, the the absence of a server shouldn't prevent us from opening a Logic project. It should just open, with the instances disconnected, and one can re-connect, once the server is available again.

Even if the server is connected it still takes about two minutes to connect to the six instances, which is quite long I think, and often longer than if I had to load all the samples needed in the host without using VE Pro.

It just seems that the VE PRo plugin is forever searching searching searching..... Is there no way to speed up this process? I have flagged up this issue before, and the latest VE PRo build hasn't improved the situation.

Sequencer:  Logic 9.1.1, OS 10.5.8, Mac Pro 8 Core 10GB RAM, VE PRO Build 5436

    Slave 1: VE PRO Build 5436 (64 bit), XP64, Intel 5400 Quad, 24GB RAM

Slave 2: VE PRO Build 5436 (32 bit), XP Home Edition, Intel Pentium D, 3GB RAM

All connections are via wired Gigabit ethernet. All other network ports on all machines are disabled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as nearly impossible to work at the moment.
