  • VE Pro - more than 4 sends via quick controls?

    Hi Vienna-Team,

I just detected your remote controls, which make it possible to change VE Pro's volume, pan and sends from the host sequencer (i.e. with the "Quick controls"). That's an amazing feature, thanks a lot!!

Do you think it's possible to control more than 4 sends in the future (for example 8 sends). That would be great!

By the way: There are a lot of "Dummy"-Values (i.e. "Dummy 1-1-0" ) in the quick controls. Do they have any meaning? Unfortunately I didn't find anything about this great feature in the manual .

    Best regards,

    Peter

  • The dummy controls can be ignored. They are a technical tricks to get MIDI CC automation to work with the limitations of VST3.

  • Can I use these Quick Controls from a master using ProTools to control VEPro on slave? Or do they only work on Metaframes using VST plugs? (not AU)

  • You can automate volume, pan and the first four sends of the first 64 channels of a VE Pro Server instance from any supported plugin standard (VST2/VST3/AU/RTAS). A more involved automation system is planned for a future update (so one can automate plugins hosted in a VE Pro Server instance and do some custom mapping).

  • Ok very cool thanks!!

  • Is this method somewhere in the new manual?...............I couldn't find it.

Perhaps you could provide a brief description for PTools users about using this feature to control the volume and sends in VEPro?

  • It's automatable from the host the same way any multitimbral plugin is. I don't know specifically how it's handled in PT. Cubase has an automation list in the inspector with a list of channels and assignments to add. Channel #1 is the leftmost appearing one in VEP, and so forth.

VE Pro is already now an excellent app. But with this feature it'll be a really killer-app! Thanks for the info!
