i am using vienna ensemble pro with one slave computer...i have my vienna key pugged into the slave machine like in the illustrations from the vienna manual, but when i try and open the vienna server on my master machine it won't let me open it and gives me the error message " "elicenser not found" .... do i need a vienna key for my master machine as well as my slave computer even if i only want run the vienna instruments on my slave machine?

Yeah this is annoying but not uncommon. I admit that I bought Vienna Suite thinking I would use the plugs on my Protools rig as well as my slave. I forgot about the key being plugged into my slave.
But this is the same with an iLok and I also have 4 of those plugged into one machine. You CAN transfer a licence but you can't have 2.
Some companies don't use this form of protection and I prefer that method where you have a web based registration system............like Toontracks, XLN Audio and Spectrasonics. These companies allow multiple computer registrations for the one client.......up to 4 in some cases.
