  • New Vienna Instru. Pro !

Just saw the preview and it seems you guys have really made some great improvements!

    Can't wait. [Y]

  • Once again. Its phenomenal! All the features I wanted and more are included. Will there be a beta demo version soon?

  • First of all congratulation on the big 10

Really cool new stuff for Vienna instruments. Just one suggestion that as been on my mind for some time now:

-You could add some kind of sample convolution algorithm between velocities on velocity xfade so the change would be more realistic and with better use of the different velocity layers   :P

-And seeing the new features, it would also be cool if the time stretch  feature could have a curve envelope

    congrats once again

    Nuno

  • Wow! Brilliant!

  • Yeah. Totally agree Nuno. some sort of warp for a smoother blend between velocities, and the user will have the ability to enable or disable it. That would be really cool.:)

  •  Wow I can't believe this! I hope there will be a beta test before the official release..Congrats to all VSL team for your best support and great work[^]

    Shakuman.

  • I've just come across the information this evening, and it looks just superb. I will really look forward to using this.

Thanks to VSL for this new product.

    best,

  • This is aboslutely making me drool.  The Patch Rack looks absolutely to die for.  I would love you forever if you made us presets for Divisi using this new interface.  Right now I am needing 5 seperate violin placements, 4 violas, 7 cellos and two double basses.  Mostly due to monophonic playability.  I am having so many issues getting things balanced with all of these seperate string VI's at once.

  • Looks fabulous, thanks VSL. One huge thing I'd still love to see added would be some sort of algorithmic legato transition speed control (as in LASS). VSL currently has only 2 choices right now, fast and slow–not nearly enough. Now that I'm used to working with LASS variable legato speed control, I find VSL's very limiting. I still absolutely love the sound of VSL's strings, but we'd have it all if this feature could somehow be added–thanks!

  • Will the new player work inside VE Pro?

  • looks great, lots of good ideas.

What I'd love to see is a way to assign different Perform settings to patches. A choice between 2 options would be great, so I can have long articulations (like legato) use Expression (or any other controller) for velocity switching and volume and use Note On Velocity for short articulations (with Velocity X-Fade disabled). This makes playing realistic performances much easier. I currently have 2 VIs for each instrument - one for long articulations, the other for short ones - just so I can have 2 sets of performance controls. Having this option within VI would simplify this setup greatly.

  • + 1 !

That would be even better than turning on and off the velocity cross-fade. [Y]

  • Do we really need all those horizontal lines of differing lengths visually cluttering up the file structure of the browser?

It would be some much cleaner without them.  I sure hope they're not in the final version.

+1, or perhaps on a matrix level, or the choice of both.

  • I have dream it, VSL did it ;

    great new !

Hope you will be able to increase loading speed too

    Best

  • Any chance the new player can be opened directly as a plug-in in Logic - rather than the intermediate floating plug-in box? I'm certain it would be high up on most purchasers wish list.

Yes. It can. 32- and 64-bit versions available.

     .......which prompts another question:

Does the new player use a memory server, or just the memory available to the sequencer? I'm thinking about those Mac users who are still using 32bit sequencers, but want to use all  their memory.

  • Will it be possible to stretch the highest or lowest samples to extend the range of an instrument? (Like you can in Kontakt)

For those of us who compose concert music (ie music that will be played by real ensembles or orchestras in the end) this would be an invaluable option.

Thanks Martin that's great news - looking forward to fewer mouse clicks and extra time to spend with the family!

One question concerning the opening procedure of the plug-in. I noticed that with the latest updated version of the player it takes quite a bit longer for the VI window to open once the intermediate plug-in box has been clicked. Could this be something that can be considered as part of the VI pro software development. When you are opening and closing VI's all day long as custom matrixes are created on a complex arrangement a quick plug-in opening time both makes the whole music production more streamlined and is a great time saver.

    Thanks
