  • VE PRO and Logic's Buffer Range Question

I have an 8 core MAC and my template is quite large.  Logic seems to put an enormous amount of all the plugins routing, etc. on my 7th processor.  I rather not trim down my template so I played with setting Logic's buffer range from medium to large.  Everything seems ok and now my 7th processor is about 10% lower.  In VE PRO manual on page 28 it definitely says to run it at medium buffer.  Can someone explain if the large buffer is ok to use or am I asking for problems?

    Thanks,
    Danny

    Read the above article.

When a Software Instrument track is selected in the Arrange window, Logic enters "Live Input Mode". In this mode, Logic turns on every plug-in in the channel strip's signal path so the channel strip can be played live from a MIDI controller. All of this must be handled by a single thread and therefore just one core. It's a good idea to keep a track that uses an Audio channel strip selected in the Arrange window, unless you're actively playing or recording to a Software Instrument. "
