  • More info on download instruments?

I'm interested of buying some ww and brass instruments + sections via download. However the sample content listing didn't give much info about the instruments. I would like to know how many velocity layers there are in legato, sustains and short articulations? I hope VSL hasn't cut down the velocities in download version. I quess that performance trills are not included in download products and "performance repetitions: legato", means something else?

Also do I have accesss to VI programming like velocity xfade, speed control and universal mode with download products?

Thanks for your help and answers.

  • Hello Tabbu,

all performance legatos contain 2 velocity layers, by design (apart from some special 4 vel Xfade performance legatos for specific instruments).

There are sometimes less velocity layers in the Special Edition/Download Instruments - but only where it was possible, sonically. Also, most single notes are mapped in whole tone steps (again, only where it was possible).

You are right, performance trills are not included in the Download Instruments.

Performance Repetitions are repetitions that were recorded as a repetition pattern - and you can accelerate or slow down these repetitions WITH the transition sound you get when a real instrument repeats a note (different from repeating single notes, even when played in alternation).

Concerning the software: All features are included, whichever Vienna Instrument you choose.

If you let me know which instruments are most appealing to you (mail me at ), I can also send you the Library Manuals, which contain all the details.

    Best,

    Paul
