  • VE pro - how to work with multiple logic projects? + Meta-frame questions+bugs...

    Hi

I might be really stupid here, but I don't get it. I have the following issues, pleas help anyone who has gotten their head around this :-)

    1. I want to be able to work ons several logic projects  (only one open at a time) that all uses the same VE PRo. So, I create a Logic song with my VE pro, then click the preserve button and close Logic. I can the open a new song, connect to the VE pro, just like it should be. But, when I try to open a logic project that already uses a VE-pro, I get a "could not load - too big" message, then VE pro crashes.

So, my question is, how can i avoid this strange behaviour?

    2. When saving a VE pro template as meta-frame, I can't open it again. It's greyed out. Anyone who works like this? Is it a bug?

    3. This is clearly a bug: Sometimes when I manipulate a send (to a logic bus) in Logic on a VE Pro track, all samples reloads in VE-pro.

    4. When off-line bouncing a VE-pro track in Logic, I get lots of clicks, pops, strange noises etc. This happens ONLY with VE Pro. The same samples used directly in Logic (as VI or Kontakt instances) bounces correctly.

    System: Early 2008 mac Pro, OS 10.6.3, Logic 9.1.1, VE-Pro: 4.0 build 5436.

Thanks anyone in advance for helping me out

    :-) Flemming

  • When you instantiate the VE Pro instance in Logic, before you connect click Decouple.

  • Re point 2 - the only thing I can suggest is that you are trying to load a metaframe saved in a 32-bit VE Pro into a 64-bit VE Pro (or vice-versa)? Check the "32" / "64" at the end of the file extension.

Re point 4 - I have exactly the same problem and would love to know a fix. I have to bounce everything realtime, otherwise I get all sorts of pops and crackles throughout. Offline bounce has worked on previous (maybe smaller?) projects in the past, really not sure what has changed.

  • Thanks both of you for chiming in.

Ashermusic, I'm not sure I have made  my problem clear. When I'm leaving the VE pro open to shift between Logic projects using the same VE pro setup, sometimes this results in the VE pro trying to reload "on top" of whats already loaded. It loads the VE rpo like if it wasn't already open...

Hazza, No, I have never used the 64 bit VE pro...

By the way, since I have updated the VE Pro to latest build (not the public beta), I get more and more pops and hanging notes ALL the time. It's simply horrible. I never had that problem before. I think I will go back to the older version.

  • Does the public beta perform better for you? It has some changes in the networking.
