I am planning on buying a second computer to host some of my virtual instruments. The main apps I plan to run on the second computer are: Epic Orchestra, BFD2, Trilain, and Omnisphere. I will be purchasing a MacMini for this so that has already been decided. The main thing I need some feedback on is whether I should run this computer under Mac OS or Windows XP. Also, should I use VSTi's under OS X or stick to AU. I keep hearing that VSTi's are more efficient but I have not seen a real world comparison on the same hardware.
My primary DAW is Logic Pro on an iMac. For the slave computer I really don't care which OS or version of plugin type. Thanks in advance for any isight you all can share!
