  • Changing Pitch Bend Range

I would like to change the "Pitch Bend Range" of an instrument from the default of 200 cents to 64 cents. The only way I have found to do this is to open the "Perform" panel in the Vienna Instruments interface and click repeatedly on the tiny downward arrow icon next to the value's display. I would like to just select the display and type in a number. Or, at least, holding the mouse button down should implement auto-repeat. Am I missing something? Sorry to have a complaint as my first posting. I really love it so much!!!! Cheers, David [Vienna Special Edition, Logic Express, Mac Mini/ 2GHz Intel core duo 2/ 4GB RAM]

  • Hi davpla, and welcome [:)],

just checked on OS X 10.6.3 - no problem to "click-drag" in the field. You´re right, manual editing of the numbers does not work.

Hope this still works for you with "click-dragging".

Another trick, if you´re always choosing 64 cents as your range: Create an "empty" preset with just the right settings in the "Perform" window and start to create your presets there - this will save you quite some mouse clicks!

  • If we want one semitone in each direction, what number should we use? I think I fugred this out one time and then forgot.

  • Is 100 = one semitone? I think I am confusing my virtual instruments and it was another product--not VSL--that used weird numbers. If 200 = one whole tone, then I am good. Thanks!

  • Hello Paul,

And is there're some ways to make the range over 200, to 400 for example?
I know that it'll be sound not good but I realy need to make this in demo.

    Thank you.

    Alex.

  • Hello Alex,

I´m afraid there´s no option to do that within Vienna Instruments.

Don't know if it is pertaining, but on my 10.6.8 system I can manually typing pitch range (and all the values showing in the Perform panel) after clicking on it.
