  • How do I route multiple Outputs with VE Pro issue

    Hello,

I am running VE Pro as a slave on one PC(32 bit), with Sonar 8.5 as the master on another PC, in 64 bit . I have been trying to get more than two audio channel outputs from VE Pro, but thus far I can only get Net 1-2 and Net 3-4 to ouput. I am using a RME Multiface II as my firewire audio card which has 8 ADAT ouputs. Are there some output settings that I might be missing in VE Pro? I have no issues with audio in Sonar.

My successful routing is as follows:

    1. Open a VST in VE Pro, set midi channel as #1, and set output to Net 1-2, or Net 3-4.

    2. Open VE Pro 64 VST in Sonar, set audio input as VE Pro 1-2, or 3-4.

    3. Set midi channel in Sonar to midi channel 1. Hit keyboard and it works fine.

    4. If i change the output on slave VE Pro to Net 5-6, and change input to VE 5-6 in Sonar, no sound. Any combination other than 1-2 or 3-4 yields no sound.

    Thank you for your suggestions.

    JL

  •  You should change the preferences of the VE Pro Server on both the master and slave systems. That is probably the problem.

    Hi,

Could you please be more specific as to what or which preferenes to  change? In Sonar, when VE Pro is running as a VST the only preferences available are in the Plug in Properties. In the Slave VE Pro, I have 8 midi ports per instance and 8 audio ports selected.

    Thank you.

    JL

  • You should start the VE Pro Server on the master system and set the ports there as well. Those preferences apply to both the Server Interface plugin and the Server application on that system.
