  • Can VEP "Slave" Computer Stream/ Read Sample Libraries from VEP "Master" Co...

I was considering investing in a Glyph Forteraid or Mercury Elite QX2 running Raid 10 (via estata or FW 800) and storing all my sample libraries on my main 8 core mac. I wondered if my VEP PC (with Macdrive) and other Mac could load and stream the samples on the main Mac connected to the the QX2 via gigabit ethernet? It seems to work fine and fast via my graid raid 0 drives currently connected. I just wanted to make sure. It seems like there would not be any considerable speed degradation. Is this a correct assumption. Any suggestions on how to set this up on the pc side so the network connection stays intact? I would do this for Kontakt 4 libraries and other large library software like BFD and Superior Drummer, etc. It seems like a waste of space to have to install separate drives on each system with the same sample libraries. Any suggestions?
