  • VI-PRO Interface Color

I'm not sure how the rest of the VSL Community feels about the VI-PRO Interface Colors but I must say, for me, the Vienna Suite and Vienna Ensemble interface colors were SPOT ON.  I could look at them all day and my eyes never grew tired.

The massive amount of white, again for me, is a major strain on the eyes for extended periods of time.  It's also difficult to make out some of the settings without blinking a few times.

One suggestion would be to provide the option to the user to have either the current color scheme (which matches logic) and the color scheme from Vienna Suite.  It may be a way to satisfy most if not all users......

Curious how other's feel or is it just me?

Appreciate the VSL Team's consideration on this one.....

    Thanks

  • I'm with you on this one.

  • never tried to lowering the brigthness of your video monitor?

    you'll save on electricity bills,

your video will last twice the time, and your eyes as well.

  • Please don't make assumptions.

In fact, I always keep my monitor brightness way down, so this is not the problem here.

The problem is perhaps a difference of opinion.

    Thank's Futurino!!!

I really feel like an idiot on this one.  I've always left the displays at the default setting.  Three 30" Cinema's glaring.  I created a new Display Profile for each.  It not only improved the Vienna Instrument Interface but also Logic.  Much easier on the eyes.  Should have done that years ago.  Never too old to learn.....

    Thanks again....

  • Just one more quesiton - which version of OSX is running on the system, 10.5 or 10.6 ?

The interface has been tuned to default monitor gamma 2.2, which is adopted by Apple in 10.6 (which should appear darker than 10.5).

    I'm running 10.6.4

My monitor gamma is indeed set to 2.2 (on a 30" Cinema display)

Running 10.6.4  I brought up Logic and VI-PRO on the monitors.  Then I went into the Monitor Utility and using the advanced settings, adjusted the parameters until it was the way I liked it using Logic and VI-PRO as reference - not the Apple in the middle of the parameter dialog...  Works for me.....
