  • VI Pro and some questions

Hi everybody. Firstly, I would like to thanks everyone involved in VIP, because I began to tried it yesterday, and it is amazing! I have written a short piece for solo violin and solo cello as a mock up before playing myself the parts with real instruments, two days before VIP came out. The sounds from VSL SE were great and with little programming, there was some kind of realism with the strings. The only thing which was bothering me was the perfectness (dorry I'm french, don't know if the word exists) of the pitch. Notes were always right, which was strange to me (as string players are never exactly in tune). I tried VIP with the humanizer and some "out of tune" presets and the results were very very good! All my problems were gone... Moreover, I do have two questions: 1) What is the use of the new "start" fader? 2) What kind of reverb is applied in VEP. It doesn't seem to be convolution. What is it purpose exactly? Do you think a need to put some on each instruments and then apply my overall convolution reverb? Thanks for your help.

    Hi Hicks,

    Thanks for your feedback [:)]

The "Start" fader is best explained in our Video Tutorials, in this case "Polyphonic Legato".

The Reverb is an alorithmic reverb - you can either use this one or apply your Convolution Reverb. And as nothing is "forbidden", you can also try to mix those 2 reverbs (I wouldn´t really do that, personally).

    Best,

    Paul
