  • MIR update wish list :-)

    Hi,

    1. Access to the master output channel would be great (insert section)

    2. Saving and loading Master and Room EQs as presets

    3. Insert section and routing possibilities for groups

    4. Channel strip overview for instruments, groups and master output (that is, an old-fashioned mixer overview)

    Best regards,

    Goran

  • Hi Goran,

thanks for your input! An update of MIR is just around the corner, with it's main new feature being full VI Pro integration, and some minor enhancements. No other main-features have been added, though.

    In answer to your suggestions:

ad 1: Right now, the idea is that you will either route MIR's output back to your DAW and do all mastering-related processing there, or to re-record MIR's output and do the final mastering off-line. Your basic needs should be covered by the MIR's Master EQ.

    ad 2: That's on my personal wish-list,  too. :-)

ad 3 + 4: As a matter of fact, most of your wishes (1-4) will be fulfilled with MIR Pro. That even more true for those two points, although maybe in a different form than one might guess now. :-)

ad 4:  I'm not arguing about the benefits of a "conventional" mixer view (hey, I'm a soundguy, too! ;-) ...). Nonetheless I want to emphasize that it was actually one of MIR's basic concepts to get rid of all these purely "technical" representations of virtual orchestral music. I still consider the Instrument / Output Channel View to be a big concession towards the techie guys like me who need sliders, knobs and readouts. 8-)

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Dietz,

thank you for the information. Is there a schedule planned for the MIR Pro release?

    Kind regards,

    Goran

  • We hope that "winter 2011" means "before spring 2011" and not "after autumn 2011". [H]

It's too early for a serious answer, but actually we try to optimize MIR's performance even further! 😊 ... at least, CPU consumption should not exceed today's values considerably under the same circumstances.
