  • REQUEST! Portamento patches from appassionata Strings

    Hi,

I just bought VI Pro and I want to program my own presets, It's great so far but I ran into problems with portamento articulation in app strings

In App strings, portamento can only be found in A/B (Legato interval patches) - Can I request the portamento patches only will also available in directory (it owns preset)? I want to match portamento patches in stack mode (use the same KS or CC message) so I don't have to use 2 different messages for portamento articulation if I want to stack 2 sounds in 1.

Also, Please make the A/B switch to be user customizable (of course in VI Pro) ?

    Thanks

    Sonny

  • Hi Sonny,

you can lock each patch with  A /B to either A or B in the Advanced tab of the Slot Editor Area. This should solve your problem.

  •  Hi Paul,

    Thanks for the reply,

I don't understand but will give it a try (Patch I stacked with don't have A/B)

So, I still prefer to have app strings leg_Por seperate so I can drag them into any slot that I need.

  •  Just drag the App patch into the required slot and then set it to play only the B part. This will give you the portamento always on in that patch.

Also, the A/B switch is customisable already, as far as setting your own controller for it. Is that what you meant?

  •  Thanks DG, I understand now :)

The A/B customize, I mean I can create my own A/B (For Sound, not how to control it)

For example, instead B is always for portamento in app strings, I want to change to rep_leg instead) - and also AB for all other instruments

I don't know if it's possible already in VI PRo but Thanks for the response... that's was all I need to know for now

    Sonny

  • No, its not possible to create your own A/B in the way that it's done in the VSL created patches, but it is easily possible to set up the same behaviour so that as far as the user is concerned it works the same.
