  • VE Pro to get VI Pro functionality?

    Hi folks

Sorry if I've missed this in other threads (can't find it anywhere), but can someone confirm whether VE Pro is due to be updated with the new features of VI Pro, or is VI Pro a separate upgrade that will operate within the VE Pro environment?

If VE Pro is going to be upgraded, when is this likely to happen?

    Many thanks

    Harry

  • Hi Harry,Vi Pro is just an upgrade to VI. And Vi and Vi Pro both work as stand alone or within Ve Pro, seperate programs. Hope that helps,,, Mike

  • VI Pro is available as a seperate product and is also integrated into the latest versions of VE Pro.

    Karel,

I know what you meant by saying it's "integrated", but I can see a newbie thinking it's built in.... allow me (for the original poster):

The "integration" of VI Pro and VE Pro allows certain global functions in VE Pro to work with VI Pro. And VE Pro is now aware of VI pro. But the products remain separate, and unique.

VI Pro "simply" is an optional upgrade to the VI software. If you want the extra features, get it. Otherwise, you can continue to use the bundled player.

VE Pro hosts plugins and is a server for VIs. Be it from VSL or any other AU or VST plugs.... (oversimplification)

You can use one, or the other, or both. If you use VSL libraries, VI Pro is a great upgrade, with lots of value.

I hope this answers the original question.

  • Ok now I understand I have to buy VI Pro additionally if I want the extra functions. Thanks for clearing that up.

    Cheers
