    SOLVED! - went back to build 6150 which immediately recognized all my plugins!

    6853 works just fine.

    Must be something else?

    Did you upgrade every machine (host, slaves) to 6853? You must have all devices on the same version.

    was going to start installing update on all the machines but after the first two did not see any plugins, I wasn't risking it on all of my machines.

    I have seen others on the forum saying previous build saw play fine but latest build doesn't. but 6853 did not see ANY plugins.

    I should never try to upgrade anything in the middle of a deadline - a mistake I've made too many times

    Ah. Play. :-(

    But the "you must use the same version of VE pro on all connected devices" still apply.

    I would imagine if you install 6853 on all devices and restart, you will have your AU plugs back. Can't speak for Play.

    As for upgrading while on-deadline... Try again when you have 15 extra minutes?

    yes all the machines must be updated but you have to update them 1 at a time in sequence - impossible to do all at same exact moment.

    are you telling me that if I upgrade 1 slave machine, launch the server, that it won't see any internal pulgins UNTIL every other machine -slave and master?

    that doesn't seem right

    every other time I updated a slave machine, I could quickly open a new instance and right click and see I could add my plugins - then I would go updated all the others the same way... before finally updating master and launching sequencer

    and BTW, I have not tried to use play until now. and the one machine that I could see no plugins did not have play installed...

    The way that I upgrade VE pro on my slaves:

    1. Restart all machines (to clear VE Pro from ram)

    2. WITHOUT any audio (or any other) software running, upgrade all VE Pro on all machines. Do not launch any servers or hosts.

    3. Restart all machines.

    4. Done. Make music.

    This is the method that I use on each upgrade -- never an issue of missing plugins. Sounds like caching to me...

    PS -- you have your VE Pro network setup to use STATIC IP addresses?  That is best.

    yes - did set up static IPs but did not for newer machine.
