  • Ensemble Pro slowing down my Logic dramaticly

I´m sure, there is a setting to solve that problem:

Whenever I do an action in Logic, it takes about 3 seconds, because somehow VE pro is saving its project. Simple example: If I delete a track, Logic doesn´t react for about 3 seconds, because VE pro is saving project.

How can I switch that saving off to get my normal Logic performance back? I tried to open the VE pro preferences, but the symbol is kind of greyed out and nothing opens, when I click on it.

    Hello Felix,

I assume that you are working with Kontakt in VE PRO, right?

Use the "Decouple" Feature, this way Kontakt doesn´t slow down the saving process. More information is available in the VE PRO Manual.

  • It was EastWest Play, but the Decouple helped. Thanks a lot!

  • Hi again,

just keep in mind that the VE PRO data is NOT saved with the song, when an instance is decoupled! So it makes sense to save the viframe/metaframe.

  • Indeed. Another option is to enable Decouple only when saving the master host project. It never hurts to save viframes/metaframes regardless of Decouple though, just to be protected against network connection loss.

  • I am having the same problem and glad I found this solution!  Thanks!

  • You'll also be glad to know that the next update of VE Pro will have the ability to enable/disable decouple for all Server Interface plugin instances at once. Also, saving times will be reduced significantly for the AU and RTAS versions of the plugin.

That's exactly what I'd liked to hear from you!!! Thanks a lot, this "Decouple All" feature may came really handy when you're dealing with a dozen AU VE-PRO plugs... Well, I'm kind of novice of VE-PRO but with it instantly incremented dramatically my workflow and I find the program quite stable in my set up with Mac/Digital Performer - i7/VE-PRO. The only thing that could make me scream in joy would be a MAS version of the Plug, in order to have access of more than 16 midi channel per VE-PRO instance, but this is another topic... 😉 So far kudos for VE-PRO. Cheers Arceo

That's a godsend for me. It takes over a minute (!) to save a file in DP since I've got 24 instances of VE Pro to go thru saving.
