  • VST expression Trombone ensemble

Doesn't work with the 13D matrix patch.

    Thanks

  • Ok, I found a clue.
I have to load the preset file, not the matrix, am I right ?
But I've 2 preset for this downloaded instrument : 13D in the Download Instruments Presets and D79 in the Download Wind Instruments Presets folders...
    The 13D preset contains 2 matrices : Trombones (3) all and legato-speed, with C7 D7 as keyswitches.
The D79 preset seems to be the same, but the keyswitches are C0 C#0.
So this is a bit confuse, wich expression map should I use... High or Low ? 13D or D79 ?

  • Hello Herrmann!

For the download instruments Expression Maps please use the VI presets, that come with them. In your case this is the D79 preset, which will work with the "High Woodwinds+Brass" Expression Map.
If you don't know, which Expression Map shall be used for which instrument, just take a look at the short pdf manuals, that come with the Expression Maps downloads.

    Best regards,

  • There is something wrong with this expression map : if I have a staccato followed by sFz, the sFz is not working (replaced by sustain patch). But, if I start to play just the sFz notes, it works.
I've tried different combination of articulations, same problem with Fp.

Using Cubase 5.5.2, VEPro 6853, OSX.

    Thanks

  • Ok, I have the same problem with the winds SE... sFz not working after staccato.
As I know that the VST3 VEpro plugin doesn't allow PC, I tried in a VST2 version, without result.
I tried directly without VEPro, again same result...

  • Hello Herrmann!

This is not a mistake in the Expression Map. Unfortunately the VST Expression system is not 100% reliable. Sometimes articulations don't get reset properly, which is the case in your example. As a workaround I suggest adding a "Senza vib." or "Con vib." Expression just before the sforzato note. Then it should work.,

    Best,
    Andi
