  • sibelius: switch from vi to vi pro introduces weird legato behaviour

it's in the title: i've switched from vi to vi pro within my ve pro template, and now the notes played legato are playing slightly longer than the notes' length. as a result, the slurred instruments sound as if there was an accent at the beginning of each note (ie. the first note still playing and the new one starting). that's surely weird!
    can anyone help?

  • Hello Denis!

That's because of the polyphonic legato mode.
I can see two possibilities to change this behaviour:
1.) If you don't need polyphonic for a particular instrument, just turn it off on the Advanced/Options page in VI Pro or if you want to turn it off only for a patch you can do so on the Slot Editor/Advanced page.
2.) If you want to use polyphonic legato, you can adjust the values for Interval Threshold and Poly Chord Threshold in the Slot Editor/Advanced menu.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • i understood that polyphonic legato was activated only when playing chords (and the option in the advanced menu). i'll turn it off then. thanks for your response, andi.
