    I run a template of sounds, both native on my Mac and on my slave PC through VE Pro. They all interface with Logic 9.1.1 through decouple mode. My VE Pro hosts a lot of kontakt instances. If in the middle of my work, say I need to go in and pull up a sound, it can often take several minutes to do that. Sometimes, it's just several minutes the first time I load up a new sound, and then all others after that first one are at regular quick speed. Or, sometimes, like on my slave PC, loading up new sounds can take a couple of minutes per sound. I get the spinning wheel, all that. This wait time even occurs sometimes when I go to delete a Patch in Kontakt. This only happens in Kontakt inside VE Pro... never in any other apps. However, this does not happen if I open up my VE Pro metaframe and right away go and load or delete some sounds before I pull my Logic work session. please advise.

    Hi lukehamm,

    Please share a few more details like the OS you are running on both machines and the versions you are using with your software. Is the Kontakt Memory Server on/off? Which other settings are you using?

    How much RAM do you have, how much RAM are you using?

    Also, which libraries are you loading in Kontakt? It would be good if we could reproduce this here.

    Does it also happen when smaller setups are loaded? Please check if there´s a pattern or if certain libraries produce this behaviour more often than others.

    ok, thanks for your reply Paul. natively, I'm running the VEP v.4.1.7043 on Mac 8-core 2008 machine with OS 10.6.4 and Logic 9.1.1. Kontakt Memory server is off as I don't see the need for it if I'm running it inside VEP 64-bit. I have 18 Gb of Ram, and have always had ~6-8 gb of free RAM still available at any given time. This happens with all libraries I load in kontakt, including the libraries that come with Kontakt. as I mentioned, the same problem occurs on my slave PC, which is an HP Pavilion with 8 Gb of Ram running Windows 7. same version of VEP.

    please try with the latest version of Vienna Ensemble PRO, 4.1.7384, hope that improves the situation!

    If this doesn't improve the situation, also don't hesitate to contact NI support with this issue, so they're also aware of it.

    Same happens to me.  Also a Logic 9.1.1 user.  And v. 7384 didn't improve it.  I suspect this problem is closely linked to the fact that Vienna can't really seem to handle background loading very well and generally loads up Kontakt instruments very slowly (in comparison to loading directly into Kontakt/Logic without VEP).

    very frustrating.

    Also, it takes for EVER to quite out of VEP when I have a large template running (ie: 20GB or so).  I'm testing right now to see if running the Kontakt Memory server from within VEP might fix some of this.
