      Is it possibe to run VSL instruments off of a NAS or San as oppossed to seperate PC's.

    basically yes, since VI asks *only* for read-access.

    however your NAS or SAN should be a professional and configurable product since all caching issues with locally attached raids will apply also in this case.

    and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
