  • Audio tracks in VE Pro

I've been considering using VE Pro as a host DAW but would like to know a little more about its ability with audio tracks. 1. Can you record audio (e.g. guitars) directly to VE Pro. 2. What tools does VE Pro have for working with audio tracks. EDIT: I think I misunderstood what VE PRO is. It's not a DAW/sequencer/ where you work with Midi and audio tracks. It's a master mixing console.

  • Hello commalot

See the VE as a VSTinstrument which can host several VSTinstruments itself. These instruments (VSTis) can be mixed with the internal mixer. Further you can assign VST-effects within this mixer as you can do it in the mixer of a common DAW.

    So...

    It isn't a sequencer.

It isn't a host for audio files (even if you can load VST-Sample-Players which will be able to play audio files...)

You have the possibility to use VEPros on three computers. They are all together connected via LAN.

So your Main Computer can play and controll VEPros on other Computers even if you have no DAW there...

An application for the VE could be:
Prepare a VE with a VI for each Woodwind-Instrument, and a VE with a VI for each String-Instrument... and save these ensembles as Woodwind-Ensemble and String-Ensemble with all the necessary positioning effects etc.
By the way: You can do this «Creating of Ensembles» in Cubase, Logic... as well! But you will need more than on track.

    Advantages of VE are:

    • Groups of VIs can be saved.
    • 1VSTi hosts 16 VIs (VSTis withVEPro),
    • Save  Ensemple Setups with all pannings and effects, ...
    • - ...
