  • 24 GB of Memory for MIR on P6T Deluxe motherboard

I am looking for some advice on what would be the best memory to run MIR. I'd like to squeeze 24 Gb on ram onto my P6T Deluxe mother board. (I am running an I7 920 processor)

    I curently have two options:

    G.Skill RipJaw 24GB DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Triple channel Kit

    or the more expensive:

    Patriot Viper 2 Sector 7 24GB PC3-12800C9 1600Mhz Triple Channel Memory Kit.

Would the extra speed make much of a difference.

Also will either of these models of memory work in a P6T Deluxe mother board. (Not the V2 version of this mother board)

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Many thanks

    Chris

P.S. Absolutely fantastic news about the launch of the Vienna Dimension Brass. I've been waiting for years for something like this. Here is hoping you do the same for the strings and woodwind.

  • please note that an i7 920 will run at 1066 anyway - only i7 950 and above actually can run at 1333 - IF you put only 3 memory modules on the motherboard (3 x 8 GB). an i7 950 with 6 memory modules (6 x 4 GB) will throttle down to 1066 anyway.

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
