  • VE Pro 7644 changelog

So what's new in 7644? Changelog is old and I'd really like to know what's under the hood before installing.

  • Hi gen0use,

the changelogs will be updated soon... Please check again in a few hours, there are various bugfixes for VE PRO, VI PRO and MIR.

Most notably, the bug that produced an eLicenser error when loading specific patches in VI PRO has been fixed [:)]

  • Hi

Can someone explain what is «Automatic channel focus»?

    Thanks,

    CB

  •  Hi CB,

this feature was a big personal wish. It enables to speed up the workflow (at least mine).

It happens very often, that I stop the sequenzer select a certain instrumentrack in the sequenzer and perform on the keyboard this selected instrument to check out articulations, harmonic progressions, whatever.

Especially when searching for the right articulations or to make adjustments you have to select the desired instrument in VE PRO to see what's going on.

Now you don't have to select the instrument in VE PRO anymore. If there is a certain timeframe where midi input is coming in on only one channel in VE PRO, this channel will be selected automatically. So you automatically see the instrument you want to see.

As far as I know this feature works only for VI and VI PRO instruments inside VE PRO.

  • I dreamed of it too! Especially when working with two computers.

But does anyone can confirm that it works with Logic? I ask the question because nothing appear on my VEP (slave computer) when I change track (or enter a note) on my DAW.

    Thanks,

    Claude

  •  When using Midi Activity Focus it's not quite so obvious which instrument is active, yes it does select the right VI Pro screen and the channel instance number does go white background, but the channel instance heading remains white, so you end up with many channels with a white header. As soon as you select one manually, then all is back to normal, so is there a relevance to having multiple channel headers in white (as if they are selected), as normally only one can be shown this way?

  • Oups… I forgot to check the option «Midi Activity Focus» in the VEP menu… (no button or icon; I didn't saw the menu option before)    :(

OK for me now. Some delay before switching between VIP instances. I have to manually select the active VEP's instance (one for Strings, one for Woods, etc.) in front windows. But its OK. Very usefull!

    Thanks a lot again.

  •  Yes, there is a delay of one 1 sec, otherwise performing with multiple channels would result always in wild uncontrolled switching if this feature is enabled.
