  • Sonar X1 Linear EQ Plug In loads in VE PRo but doesn't work

    Hello,

I would like to use Sonar X1's Linear EQ plugin in VE Pro. I have the most upto date VEpro/VI software. I'm using Win7 x64. on a Dell i7 machine.

The plugin loads up fine. but when the eq power button is turned on it kills all audio on that track. Bypass it and it works fine.

Is this something VSL could look at?

    Cheers

    Paul

  •  If it is a plug that is part of Sonar, is it supposed to work in VS Pro? Have Cakewalk said it will?

  • Hi DG,

As far as I was aware these are a selection of plugins that can be used in other software. Funnily enough all the other plugis work fine in VE Pro. Linear Compressor/Percussion Strip etc.

But to answer your question Cakewalk haven't said it would work and I just wondered since the others did work. It may be a no go but just thought I would ask. Since I've been using Jbridge with 32bit plugs which can be a bit flakey these 64bit ones may be a good option.

    Cheers

    Paul

  • Ah right, I thought I'd better ask, as people previously have been wondering why their Logic/Cubase etc. plugs don't work in VE Pro. Sorry not to be able tot help you though.

  • No worries. thanks DG

  • I think it's a buggy plugin. A far as I can tell, it's a "standard" VST plugin, which should be usable everywhere, but I've tried it in various hosts, and it will crash the system every time. As you say, the LP multi compressor, and conv reverb work fine in the same apps. Other Sonar plugins which can't be used elsewhere usually have a popup stating that fact if you try to load them. Your best option is to forget it and try another plugin - I wasn't that impressed with it anyway! For some reason it seems very slow to respond to drawn eq changes (could this be part of its problem?).
