Any chance of some raw Dimension Brass demos/snippets? Just each section (and a solo instrument) playing some staccatos/portatos at a few dynamics up to ff, as well as some dynamic sustain swells from ff to p would be nice. I still am not sure I can get the sound out of it that I want/need, and it's very hard to judge from the demos and video. Would love to run some trumpets and horns especially through some reverb and EQ and see where I can get it.

Well I'm not going to do the raw ones, maybe they will add them, however... since Simon Raven is an awesomely experienced MIDI programmer and has done tons of great stuff I have admired over the years - I would say that what I notice about the Dimension Brass is that they are useful for anyone doing a fast brass orchestration who does not want to mess with divisi problems, but also are valuable for someone wanting more variation and detail such as the trombones, which have legatos that are probably better than the solo trombone legatos. I am planning on using those for solos involving legato. Also, in general the entire ensemble acts as a very good addition to the solo brass, for variations and adding complexity. Though you must realize the effect of the simultaneous ensembles/solo recording which is that any given articulation is not going to be as "perfect" as the solo instrument recordings (which of course are the result of a near-insane level of perfectionism) but that very imperfection is what gives you the ensemble variability which is what they were going for. It is a uniquely brilliant concept to use, and quite different from the norm in samples which alone makes it worth adding to your arsenal.

Thank you for your response (and your kind words:)) - yes, the imperfection and the auto-divisi and the possibilities that come with it is what attracts me to Dimension Brass. And if I was usually aiming for a more "European" sound, I would not have any problems with shelling out for Dimension Brass. But since I usually am required to aim for a more Hollywood sound I am just not sure I can get there with Dimension Brass. The horns are the group I think which is closest to what I can use, but the trumpets and trombones... not so sure I will ever get to use them because I already have samples which are closer to a (modern) film score sound with bright, sizzly trumpets and deep, full trombones.
I love the concept but if the sound isn't right for me, I know I will hardly find any use for them, which is why I am asking for some raw material (or even better: some demo patches or something that could let me try it out for just a few days). I have many samples that I love for the sound but would love the legato features, auto divisi, humanize and all the nice stuff in the modern VSL instruments, but not if I end up with a sound that I don't find useful. I realize that VSL is a different concept from some other sample producers, but I also know that they have done horns and other sounds before which fit well into the "Hollywood domain" of sounds, which is why I am not ruling out Dimension Brass either:)

I don't know if this is of any use but I put up a simple little chorale for 4 trombones in a MIR SE mix and a NO REVERB version.
It is played on one track in real time, with auto divisi, only two articulations - sustain and dynamic 4 sec. I tried to make it have a lot of variable splitting between unison, 2, 3 and 4 note chords.
