    Hello,

    as you have published your impressive Dimension Brass-Plugin I wonder if Divisi-Strings are to be expected soon. In combination with the new MIR (for Mac) it would be such a great thing....

    Hello Paul, thanks for your response. I just ordered the Vienna Imperial and am still meditating about ordering it today - last chance to get it cheaper, I know. My main intention is to get a "Gypsy"- or Bavarian-Folk-music kind of sound with Tubas and Trombones full of pressure. And I really like my complete Wallander-Brass-Collection - but this sound is not so easy to get. (Using the breath-controller brought me close to the heart-attack). Do you think I can reach that sound with Dimension Brass?

    Hi Alfred,

    I think that Gypsy and Bavarian music is a pretty wide field. You will definitely get closer to a more "live" feeling of all brass instruments, the Humanize Features within the group are simply great.

    I just want to add that I would also love some sort of divisi string libaries... I am a VSL noob and it will be a while before I can buy anything anyway - but I would die for a Violin II, let alone divisi. I'm sick of my eastwest friend telling me how he has divisi and I don't (even though my samples take his down anyday).

    Also, Appassionata has 20 violins... Hans Zimmer's private library has 34. I'm a fan of big... even more so than Mahler... so when I say I want 34 or more, I mean it. I know that won't happen... but divisi or any other attempt at giving depth to VSL strings would help GREATLY!!

    I'll second that,  we really need a second violin section sample set, so unison on the sections would give us 24 players

     I'll also vote for divisi strings - such a big part of string technique in concert scores. Failing that, a Violin II would be good.

    I would love some Divisi's. Would love to have them recorded on a different Sound stage though. Preferably a famous one.

    If you wouldn't mind elaborating... I am curious why the sound stage is a big deal to you. 1) I don't think famous automatically equates to quality. You may not mean that either, but that's how it sounded. 2) If you are simply saying 'a better sound stage' then I want to know why, as I like everything VSL produces and have no problems with audio quality... period. I like dry samples and I can't imagine someone using VSL (being a 'dry company') and wanting a different sound stage.

    Just curious what your mentality is,

    I dont wish to have a "wet" HALL sample library...But a "live" scoring stage such as Teldex or similar will yield much better sounding sound libraries than the silent stage...

    Vienna's software is impeccable and the depth of samples is incredible. Interestingly the most useable samples Vienna offers are the solo winds, this has a lot to do with the fact that they can close mic solo instruments......But as soon as we move into larger instrument sections the mics need to be placed further back and now having a very musical space becomes paramount., the silent stage sound now rears it's head.....

    Enter convolution reverb:Convolution is awesome, but its not a one stop solution. It is great for getting tails of halls. But to have the entire responsibility of creating a musical space for bone-dry live  strings to truly sound great and emotional? no way.....you need a proven scoring stage for that..

    ...and then you supplement that with convolution tails. That is how one creates a great mock-up sound.
