  • Vienna Download Manager for Windows

Hi, i can't find a Link to a windows-version of Vienna Download Manager in my user-area, but i am a windows-user. How i can download my purchased Files? "...As an alternative download option: All the installation files belonging to a Download Instrument you have registered, including the Installation Manual. Click on your registered instrument in the instrument category of your choice on the left side menu to proceed to the file lists. This option is only advisable if you are experiencing problems with the Vienna Download Manager...." Where??? helpless regards Ralf

  • Hi Ralf... I have exactly the same problem. I also can`t get Download Manager to work. It would help if the instructions were accurate, which they don`t appear to be. Perhaps they withdrew the alternative option, and forgot to take the old instruction out. Just waiting for a response from support as I write. frustrated David

  • sorry for the temporary inconsistencies ... we included the MIR roompacks to the set of files handled by the downloadmanager lately so the updated download manager for windows magically disappeared for some collections.

we should be back to normal meanwhile and conflicting paragraphs removed - but please report if still something seems to be missing or confusing.

I've successfully installed Download Manager 2 but everytime I try to download a file a queue entry is created but the progress remains at 0.0% no matter how long I let it run.  I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.  Thanks for your assistance.

  • is there any anti-virus and/or firewall application in the game and do you see at least a number of servers, eg. 4(4)?

if yes, it may help to add vienna download manager to the exceptions list (not required for windows built-in firewall).

lately we had an issue with some kaspersky version ...

  • I have both a hardware (in a router) and software (in Norton Internet Security) firewall.   Directory Manager is correctly configured in Norton and when I launch Download Manager the log shows no denial of service.  I tried disabling both firewalls and still could not get the progress bar past 0.0%.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?  Thanks,
    John

thanks for the feedback ... just to be sure: you didn't confuse directory manager with download manager?

another idea: has your router some port-forwarding configured for ports 8080 - 8089 (that's where the download manager will expect connections for data transfer)

  • So sorry, I typed "directory" but meant "download".  Everything else in my last post is correct:  there's an "allow" entry for Download Manager in Norton Internet Security.

I don't see any port-forwarding option in my router (Linksys) management.  As a test I removed the router from my configuration and plugged the DSL modem output directly into my PC.  Still no go with Download Manager.

    Any other thoughts?  Thanks,
    John

  • Here's some additional information:

    • I tried running Download Manager as an Administrator; no change
    • I tried changning the Compatibility Property tab to Windows XP SP3; no change
    • I tried running Download Manager in Windows XP Mode (Virtual PC).  Interestingly, the status reads "Downloading", whereas in my regular Windows 7 setup status never gets past "Checking files".  The progress bar still never makes it past 0.0% though.

I've run out of things to try.  Looking forward to your response,
    John

  • I just bought the VSL SE strings edition. Paid, got email confirmation with key. Got links to download the instruments and software player. The links only goes to pages with manuals. There are no software to be found anywhere. Under the software download area it says: There are no files available for your registered products in this category. Just paid and there are no download links for the library or software anywhere on VS pages. PLEASE HELP !!

  • This is still not fixed. I just bought the VSL SE strings download edition and cannot find a link to the download manager or any other software or instruments for that matter. What a way to handle your customer. Take their money then leave them helpless with no instructions. VSL site is by far the most unorganized orchestral library site I have visited. I was so excited to purchase my strings and get playing. But this is now 2 hours later and I have no clue where to download the freaken manager or even find my VSL software player or instruments. All I get is pages with PDF manuals and now software. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where is the download manager link? Its missing from VSL SE Strings. PLEASE SOMEBODY!!! Can someone not point my in the right direction?

    Hi williamiris,

You just need to register your Epic Orchestra and you´ll see the Epic Orchestra Download Files here.

So far, you have "only" registered one VE PRO 5 license.

  • I'm having the same problem. When I click on the 'Download Manager' link, it takes me to a page with nothing but manuals :( I've already successfully installed the e-license, but I can't get my damn instruments because I can't find an install of the download manager. :(

Edit: I've registered my dongle, and it shows that the Recorders is registered to my account. I can even download the file that is supposed to fire up download manager. But I can't find and install for download manager :(

  • Hi loydb,

    Hi David,

Have you been logged in when searching for the download files? When you're logged in with your registered email account you should be able to access all eligible libraries, software etc. here in your User Area. Here's the link to the new Vienna Instruments Player, and the download to your Special Editions and Single Instruments.

If you're logged in but don't see anything, please try to empty the cache in your browser and to delete all cookies from vsl.co.at - or try another browser like Firefox or Chrome.

Regarding Epic Horns, you can find the Vienna Instruments version here.

    Hope that helps!

    Best,

    Stefan
