> How do you stop Sibelius resetting its expression controller value after each note
Forum Jump
My apologies if this question has already been asked. How do you stop sibelius reseting its expression controller value after each note. For example, say I play a small phrase into a stave inputting expression changes via the mod wheel on my keyboard, I also don't specify any dynamic markings. What I find during playback is that in the rest marking prior to the first note the expression controller (Velx in VI) is set to 76, then the expression value for the first note changes to the ~C,88 value that I played in via the mod wheel, then on the next rest it changes back to 76. This means that during the phrase the expression value is jumping back to 76 after every note creating a wierd chopping effect with the dynamics. My guess is that after each note sibelius is setting the expression value back to the default value for the current dynamic marking e.g. mp (~C,70 - ~C,76) How do I switch this reseting action off. Also it would be ideal if I could switch this on and off, via a midi instruction when I want this to happen, for example when I have parts that I have written in by hand. Many thanks in advance Chris P.S. I use Sibelius 6.2

Hi Chris! I recommend taking a look at the "Live velocity" option in the Properties/Playback window. You can enter values for every nore there. If you are working with the VSL sound sets, these values will be sent as velocity and CC11 values. Best regards, Andi
