Hello everybody

I just bought the Special Woodwinds... Beautiful!

I would like to understand the use of "Perf. Trill". Is it only for when you perform live a trill on a keyboard? I don't perform live, I only write music on score so, if I want to have a trill with, let's say, the Bass Flute what should I do? Nothing similar to Trill 1 & Trill 2  of other collections?

Thanks for the help

Roberto

Hi,

if you use vsl intruments that don't have trill-samples within a score, you could
write the trill out, hide all the notes and have it played back with the perf trill or perf fast legato.
To keep the score beautiful you could make the note and trill sign just as symbols instead of real notes.
This all is true only if you use softwares like sibelius or finale.

The Perf trill patches are one of the best things about Vienna....they are NOT just for trilling.....If you have any legato passage that goes back and forth between two notes....even 8th notes.....so C, E, C, E, C, E  you would use PerfTrill as it will trigger a different legato sound each time thus getting rid of the machine gun effect....

PS: Keep in mind that this only worx up to a Ma4th so playing C, E, C, E,C,E will work and playing C, F,C,F,C,F will not as it only worx up to Ma4....hope this is clear....

I once thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.

Thank you all, very clear...

I work with Logic so I've to do a little workaround: write the trill notes, mute them, choose the option "hide muted note" in Layout > Global Fomat and voilà!

good work to you
