  • Linking my mac pro & imac for digital performer & Vsl. cant find info! LOL

Trying to spread the cpu load round a bit as ive heard many composers do this. what do i need to link a mac pro (quad core) and imac (core 2 duo) to communicate and share tasks ie mac pro to run vsl/kontakt and imac to run digital performer? can only find info on mac to pc but i would love to know how to run 2 macs. anyone have any info on what software and or hardware i need? can id be done with fire wire ot Ethernet? / know where to find a tutorial video? thanks :) Jon

    1. 1 Ethernet cable
    2. 2 Steinberg keys or Vienna keys
    3. Vienna Ensemble Pro

  • Hey thanks DG. Do you know if plogue bidule can handle this task as good as vienna ensemble pro? Jon

  •  To use Bidule, you will also need:

    1. MIDI interfaces on both computers, or MOL
    2. Audio interfaces on both computers with enough I/O for the number of audio channels that you want to output.

I would test out VE Pro first, as it's a much cheaper option, even when you take the dongles into account.
